Kirsty Graves

Sculpture

Kirsty Graves is an artist working predominantly in the visual arts, exploiting different mediums from photography to sculptures. Throughout the three-year course, Kirsty has been using her art to express matters of surrounding society themes and global situations currently happening; a sample of this is climate emergency.  

  

Kirsty's current project, 'cultural standards', explores feminisms idea of body standards throughout different cultures and physically altering to get the desired body standard for that ethnicity in society, furthermore breaking the boundaries on the ideal beauty standards. The mediums used have ranged from vibrant, multi-coloured paintings too, three-dimensional string sculptures.  

  

Born in Leicester, now based in Lincoln, currently studying BA Fine Art at Lincoln university. She is preparing to continue her studies at Leicester University for a one-year course.
