Ricole Appleby is an artist who primarily works in photography and acrylic painting. She has also delved into mixed media such as audio and visual expression. Throughout her work, Ricole wants to discuss the topics of mental health and body positivity, more specifically anxiety and depression, which stems from her personal experiences.

Ricole was born in Doncaster, South Yorkshire, and she is currently based in Lincoln, studying BA (Hons) in Fine Art at the University of Lincoln. She plans to study for a masters in Art Psychotherapy at Leeds Beckett University in autumn 2022.

Her final piece, entitled 'Don’t Listen. Be You' is about embracing your body no matter what society and the media portrays to be beautiful and acceptable. By blocking out the negative comments and beliefs and empowering yourself with body positivity and self-confidence.
