Reoccurring faces, 2021

Prints of paintings

Reoccurring Faces is a project in which the artist looks inwards to her environment and those around her during the pandemic. This has been documented using portraiture, where she has recreated the faces of those around her.

Sarah Smith is an artist whose work consists of painting and digital editing techniques to capture the mental state and mind of an individual or the artist. Exploring issues of entrapment and loneliness, she uses her practice to visually represent contemporary issues such as mental health through painting, making this traditional art-making method relevant in today’s society. She focuses on producing a piece of work and how each stage alters the overall meaning of the piece. Sarah was born in the North of England and had been producing work relating to the mind and mental health while studying at the University of Lincoln.
