Alexandra Widmann-Dardis is a multi-disciplinary fine artist whose focus is mainly on art that explores both mental illness and disease. She uses video, special effects makeup and installation to explore the human mind, social issues and aims to leave the viewer with newfound knowledge. Her new project, "ODDITY" explores the gruesome theme of rituals and how they are executed. The work explores how the human body is used and abused during ritual and depicts the pain and suffering endured by the people involved. Using fake blood as a medium ensured this piece was all the more gruesome, and the overall depiction was more exciting. Based in Peterborough, Widmann-Dardis is currently working and exhibiting in Lincolnshire whilst studying a BA (Hons) in Fine Art. She is preparing to continue her studies abroad in Livorno (Italy) in the upcoming years.
